Jockey Simons (family responsibility) did not ride at today's race meeting. He was replaced on his mounts. GOLD LIGHTNING was restless in the stalls. VERDI was slow, losing 1 length. SACRED DAWN and UNLEASHED POWER jumped awkwardly leaving the stalls. APOLLO ROBBINS was slow into stride. Shortly after the start DAYLIGHT SAVER clipped the heels of INCANTATION, which shifted in. Thereafter SACRED DAWN and APOLLO ROBBINS were carried in by INCANTATION, which continued to shift in. As a consequence of this HAMLIN and UNLEASHED POWER were tightened for galloping room and thereafter UNLEASHED POWER commenced to over-race in the early and middle stages. Work rider Fisher signed an Admission of Guilt for contravention in that she, as the rider of INCANTATION, failed to ensure that she did not cause interference to DAYLIGHT SAVER, SACRED POWER and APOLLO ROBBINS when she shifted in shortly after the start. She was suspended from riding in two (2) work riders' races. When assessing the penalty the Board took into consideration the number of horses that were involved and the severity of the interference. Work rider Matsoele signed an Admission of Guilt for contravention, read with Guideline M on the use of the crop, in that he hit the horse APOLLO ROBBINS more than 12 times in the entire race. He was suspended from riding in two work riders' races. When assessing the penalty, the Board took into consideration the number of strikes (16), the manner in which the crop was used and the fact that Work rider Matsoele had won the race. Work rider Fisher reported that INCANTATION did not stride out freely in running. In view of the Veterinary Surgeon's report concerning INCANTATION, this colt was suspended from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of the National Horseracing Authority for an indefinite period. A veterinary certificate for INCANTATION must be submitted to the Veterinary Department of the NHA, before it can be entered for a race. INCANTATION is also required to gallop for the NHA veterinary department after which, if found fit to race, will be sent for specimen collection for analysis. APOLLO ROBBINS was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. UNLEASHED POWER raced without a tongue tie. Vet: GOLD LIGHTNING - coughing. INCANTATION - lame left front. Scratched: DON PELAYO - retired.
