THE STARTER REPORTED: a) SLINGS AND ARROWS was nervous and fly-jumped leaving the stalls. As a consequence, Jockey S Naidoo became unbalanced and lost both his stirrup irons, which he was unable to regain until after the finish line, placing him at a disadvantage. b) GOLDEN LINK (X Ndlovu) and EYJAFJALLAJOKULL (Y Ramzan) were nervous in the stalls and kicked the back gates. c) BUSH TRACKER (MK Katjedi) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) SILVER FALCON (G Lerena) took a number of awkward strides shortly after the start. b) KING'S RANSOM (*N Nastili) was awkwardly placed and had to steady momentarily between MHLABENI (*J Botes) and MERCANTOUR (R Fourie), which was hanging in and shifted inwards at approximately the 200m. c) Jockey G Lerena reported that SILVER FALCON did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. d) Jockey MK Katjedi was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.3 in that as the rider of BUSH TRACKER, he failed to ride BUSH TRACKER out to the end of the race to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards. Jockey MK Katjedi signed an Admission of Guilt and was given a warning. e) CHAMPONELLE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer NJ Paddock, acting on behalf of Trainer WGC Miller, was advised. (LM) JOCKEY AND/OR EQUIPMENT CHANGES: a) X Ndlovu rode GOLDEN LINK (declared 09h21 on 20250714) b) Y Ramzan rode EYEJAFJALLOJOKULL (declared 14h22 on 20250714) (Trainer GD Smith was unwilling to allow Jockey C Little to ride a further 0.5kg over the carded weight. In view of this, the Stewards allowed the jockey change and no sanction was given to Jockey C Little) RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER a) Nil THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) SILVER FALCON - examined post-race.
