IMPRESSIVE DUCHESS jumped inwards leaving the stalls. YESSIRICANBOOGIE jumped outwards leaving the stalls. Shortly after the start YESSIRICANBOOGIE and IMPRESSIVE DUCHESS came together and bumped. As a consequence of this, YESSIRICANBOOGIE lost momentum. Jockey Schwarz appeared before the Board and was questioned regarding his ride in the early and middle part of the race on YESSIRICANBOOGIE. He explained to the Board that his instructions were to sit handy, however, after being bumped at the start, this precluded him from doing so and he was forced to sit further back in the field than intended. Going through the 600m YESSIRICANBOOGIE came under pressure and he started riding this filly forward with his hands and used the crop down the shoulder for encouragement. Thereafter YESSIRICANBOOGIE finished off her race strongly. SUMMER AFTERNOON was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. YESSIRICANBOOGIE and SEEMYVISION raced equipped with ear muffs. GLOWTORIA raced in the colours of Mr W G de Koker & Mr D J & Mrs H M R Nieuwenhuizen: White, Black Sleeves, White Armbands, Striped Cap. Scratched: RAINBOW HAZE - injured whilst saddling.
