THE STARTER REPORTED: a) LONELY AS A CLOUD (S Moodley) jumped inwards leaving the stalls. b) PRINCESS LOLA (R Danielson) was slow losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Shortly after the start, LONELY AS A CLOUD (S Moodley) and ACROSS THE BOW (*K J Lihaba) came together and bumped. b) At approximately the 400m, Jockey J Penny felt something amiss with BRIDGE OF SPIES and eased this gelding out of the race. In view of this report, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. c) Leaving the 400m, CAPTAIN EFFICIENT (P Strydom) was carried out marginally by PRINCESS LOLA (R Danielson), which rolled out. d) Apprentice T Mayhew reported that MISTY METAL changed stride continually in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. e) In view of the Veterinary Surgeon's report concerning BRIDGE OF SPIES, and in terms of Rule 93.1, this gelding is suspended from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of the National Horseracing Authority. Trainer D C Pretorius advised (MB). f) LONELY AS A CLOUD (S Moodley), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer C Dawson advised (MduP). JOCKEY CHANGES: None. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) DARING ACT raced equipped with blinkers and without cheek pieces (declared 14 July 2025 at 08H24). THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) BRIDGE OF SPIES lame right front.
