EN ROUTE TO THE START, CALLABURN (S MOODLEY) PULLEDF ITS RIGHT FRONT SHOE WHICH WAS ATTENDED TO BY THE COURSE FARRIER. THIS CAUSED A DELAY TO THE START OF THIS RACE.
THE STARTER REPORTED:
a) CIRCUS LIGHTS (P Mxoli) refused to jump. The starting stall certificate for this gelding has been withdrawn. Stable Employee H Chauque, acting on behalf of Trainer G J Maroun, was advised (PHvdW).
b) CALLABURN (S Moodley) was slow losing two lengths.
c) LAST GINGER (*K J Lihaba) was slow losing one length.
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a) At approximately the 150m, PHIL THE FLUTER (G Lerena) became slightly unbalanced when bumped in by APACHE CHIEF (C Murray), which shifted in marginally away from the crop. Thereafter, shortly before the finish line, APACHE CHIEF (C Murray) was brushed out by PHIL THE FLUTER (G Lerena), which shifted out marginally away from the crop.
b) Apprentice G Dookhit, the rider of LIBECCIO, accidentally dropped his crop at the 100m.
c) In view of the performance of COMMANDER OF ALL (J Gates), (distance 9,75 lengths, betting 10/1), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.
d) In view of the performance of BREGARDT (J R Syster), (distance 22,00 lengths, betting 66/1), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.
e) In view of the Starter's report with regard to CIRCUS LIGHTS, this gelding's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn, and he is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as he proves tractable loading and jumping with a companion on two consecutive race days.
Suspension dates: 18 July 2025 to 24 July 2025. CIRCUS LIGHTS may not be presented for re-passing during this period. Stable Employee H Chauque, acting on behalf of Trainer G J Maroun, was advised.
f) PHIL THE FLUTER (G Lerena), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
