THE STARTER REPORTED: a) STAR FALL (*G Dookhit) lost 1 length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) O SPACE O (N Patel) failed to parade in front of the grandstand. Trainer M J Odendaal will be advised that should this gelding behave in a similar manner in future, it may be suspended. b) MALONGANE (R A Venniker) and O SPACE O (N Patel) proved reluctant proceeding to the start and had to be led. Trainers M L Roberts and M J Odendaal respectively were advised that should these geldings behave in a similar manner in future, they may be suspended. c) Shortly after the start NEXT OF KIN (C Murray) was brushed by O SPACE O (N Patel) which jumped inwards leaving the starting stalls. d) STAR FALL (*G Dookhit) proved difficult to settle in the early stages. e) O SPACE O (N Patel) over-raced in the early stages. f) Approaching the 300m CATCH A PENNY (G Lerena) and MEERKAT MOON (C Habib) came together and brushed on two occasions. g) In view of the performances of DIGITAL ASSET (T Godden) (12.30 lengths, 6/1 in the betting) and NEXT OF KIN (C Murray) (7.10 lengths, 33/10 in the betting), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. Trainer M Miller will be asked to report back on the condition of DIGITAL ASSET on return to stables. h) MEERKAT MOON (C Habib), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
