THE STARTER REPORTED: a) MAPHAKA (A Mgudlwa) was restless in the stalls. b) PROUD MASTER (*B Plaatjies) and OFFICER IN COMMAND (*B A Makhubo) lost 1 length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) KHETHIWE'S DESTINY (C Murray) commenced to give ground to the field from the 250m and was not persevered with. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. The Stipendiary Board has exercised the provisions of Rule 49.7, and this filly is suspended pending a Veterinary Certificate prior to its next racing engagement. Trainer M/M De Kock will be advised. b) Apprentice B A Makhubo (OFFICER IN COMMAND) completed a satisfactory qualifying ride. c) Apprentice P Porffy (ELIZABEDI GOLD) completed a satisfactory qualifying ride. d) Apprentice D Ramkhalawon (WICCAN WARRIOR) completed a satisfactory qualifying ride. e) LICENCE TO THRILL (T Godden), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
