THE STARTER REPORTED: a) VICTOR HUGO (C Habib) was difficult to load. b) MOYA WA LALIGA (*D Pillay) stood, losing 3 lengths, and thereafter was slow into stride. c) MAR DEL PLATA (G Lerena) reared as the start was effected. Trainer A J Rivalland will be advised to reschool this gelding. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) A race review was called into the start of this race where it was established that MAR DEL PLATA (G Lerena), that was restless in the stalls, reared as the start was effected and unseated Jockey G Lerena. The Board deemed MAR DEL PLATA (G Lerena) to be a runner and took no further action. b) Shortly after the start REAL WAR (A Mgudlwa) was tightened between IRON WILL (*B A Makhubo) and MY ARCHANGEL (S Moodley) which jumped inwards leaving the starting stalls. c) At the 500m MASTEROFTHEDESERT (R A Venniker) was steadied to avoid the loose horse which rolled in. d) At the 50m VICTOR HUGO (C Habib) was bumped by LUNELUCK (*B Plaatjies) which rolled out. e) Jockey S Moodley reported that MY ARCHANGEL made an abnormal respiratory noise in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. f) Apprentice B A Makhubo (IRON WILL) completed a satisfactory qualifying ride. g) Trainer Y Singh was charged with a contravention of Rule 39.7.5 in that he failed to vaccinate IRON WILL against Equine Influenza in accordance with programme of vaccination as published from time to time in the Racing Calendar. Trainer Singh signed an admission of guilt and was fined R1000. h) MASTEROFTHEDESERT (R A Venniker), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer T Fripp acting on behalf of Trainer C Bass-Robinson was advised (SS). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) MY ARCHANGEL raced without a tongue tie (advised 20.07.2025/18h23). b) VICTOR HUGO raced without blinkers (advised 20.07.2025/18h23). c) Apprentice D Pillay (claiming 4kg) was the rider of MOYA WA LALIGA (advised 23.07.2025/06h26).
