THE STARTER REPORTED:
a) ROYAL CITY GIRL (*N Nastili) was stubborn loading.
b) KING PRAWN (R Fourie) was unruly behind the stalls and stubborn loading.
c) READY (C Habib) and SILVAN MISTRESS (K Minnie) were stubborn loading and slow into stride.
d) AUGUSTA ROSSO (X Ndlovu) was unruly behind the stalls and jumped slow, losing two lengths.
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a) ROYAL CITY GIRL (*N Nastili) was hanging out between the 400m and the 250m.
b) ARLU (L Mxothwa) was hanging in from the 150m.
c) Jockey K Minnie reported that he felt something amiss with SILVAN MISTRESS. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly.
d) In view of the report from the Starter regarding KING PRAWN (R Fourie), AUGUSTA ROSSO (X Ndlovu) and SILVAN MISTRESS (K Minnie), Trainer AC Greeff will be advised to have these horses re-schooled prior to their next engagements in terms of Rule 61.6.10.
e) In view of the report from the Starter regarding READY (C Habib), Assistant Trainer DG Smith will be advised to have this gelding re-schooled prior to his next engagement in terms of Rule 61.6.10.
f) In view of the report from the Starter regarding ROYAL CITY GIRL (*N Nastili), Trainer K Mitchley will be advised to have this filly re-schooled prior to her next engagement in terms of Rule 61.6.10.
g) Jockey R Fourie was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline M on the use of the crop) in that as the rider of KING PRAWN he misused his crop by striking KING PRAWN more than 12 times (13) which was not warranted when considering the circumstances of the race. Jockey R Fourie signed an admission of guilt and was fined R7937.50 and suspended for a period of fourteen days (Dates: 30/07/2025 to 12/08/2025, both dates inclusive)
h) KING PRAWN, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer AC Greeff was advised. (LM)
