THE STARTER REPORTED:
a) WAROFDYNAMITE (*S Bungane) and CAESAR'S RANSOM (A Domeyer) jumped slow, losing one length.
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a) During the loading process, Jockey A Domeyer (CAESAR'S RANSOM) brought to the attention of the Starter that the buckle of his right-side stirrup iron had jammed. The balance of the field was unloaded while Jockey A Domeyer attended to his stirrup iron, which caused a delay.
The Stewards inspected Jockey A Domeyer's stirrup leather, which was found to be in a satisfactory condition. Jockey A Domeyer told the Stewards that he will be replacing this equipment.
b) Shortly after the start, WAROFDYNAMITE (*S Bungane) was bumped by CAESAR'S RANSOM (A Domeyer), which in turn made contact with WORLD CHAMPION (L Mxothwa).
c) OBJET D' ART (*B Plaatjies), which raced green, was hanging out from the 300m.
d) WORLD CHAMPION (L Mxothwa) was hanging out in the latter stages.
e) CAESAR'S RANSOM (A Domeyer), which raced green, had to be encouraged from the 600m so as not to lose ground to the field and only responded to Jockey A Domeyer's urgings from the 200m.
f) Apprentice S Bungane reported that he felt something amiss with WAROFDYNAMITE. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this colt.
g) An Inquiry will be held into Jockey G Wright's (GREENCHOICE) riding in the latter stages.
h) SARDINIA BAY, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer GW Ennion was advised. (KG)
