I AM REGAL (P MXOLI) REFUSED TO PROCEED TO THE START AND WAS SUBSEQUENTLY SCRATCHED FOR DELAYING THE START. TIME WAS ALLOTTED FOR THE BETTING PUBLIC TO RESTRUCTURE THEIR BETS. THIS CAUSED A DELAY TO THE START OF THIS RACE. THE STARTER HAD NO REPORTS. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) On arrival at the start, PARTY PUNCH reared over, dislodged Apprentice M Mbuto and bolted the course. This filly was taken in hand, examined by the Course Veterinary Surgeon and subsequently scratched. b) I AM REGAL refused to proceed to the start. This mare is suspended in terms of Rule 93.2.4, until such time as she proves tractable cantering to the start on a Raceday. Trainer P F Matchett advised (DR). c) Shortly after the start, PATCHES OF GREY (K Matsunyane), which jumped outwards leaving the stalls, and TEO TORRIATTE (C Habib), which jumped inwards leaving the stalls, came together and bumped. d) Apprentice T Mayhew reported that INSTANT ATTRACTION took no interest in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. e) TEO TORRIATTE (C Habib), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer C J Lensley advised (MduP). JOCKEY CHANGES: a) INSTANT ATTRACTION: Apprentice T Mayhew weighed out at 54,3kg, only claiming 0,5kg of his 1,5kg apprentice allowance as declared. b) ART NOUVEAU was ridden by Jockey P Strydom (declared 26 July 2025 at 14H01). RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: None. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) INSTANT ATTRACTION examined post race, nothing obvious detected. SCRATCHED: a) ELEMBEE foot injury (veterinary certificate received) (Trainer) (Rule 53.5 applies).
