En-route to the start CLAIRWOOD ROSE (C Habib) lifted the left front shoe which was replaced by the course farrier at the start. This filly was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon and passed fit to race. Thereafter, during the loading process, CLAIRWOOD ROSE (C Habib) rushed the front gates, was released from the starting stalls and was subsequently withdrawn by the Veterinary Surgeon. This caused a delay to the start of this race.
THE STARTER REPORTED:
a) CLAIRWOOD ROSE (C Habib) rushed the front gates, was removed from the stalls, examined by the Veterinary Surgeon and was subsequently withdrawn.
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED :
a) At the 400m SILVA CITY (R Fourie) which hung in throughout, was steadied away from the heels of MYSTICAL MISS (K de Melo) which rolled out away from the heels of ELEGANTRIX (G Lerena) which rolled out marginally.
b) Jockey P Mxoli reported that LET'S GO LOLA took no interest in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine.
c) PRINCESS OF GAUL (C Zackey), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer D Kannemeyer was advised (NS).
