THE STARTER REPORTED: a) DU MAURIER (A Domeyer) was restless in the stalls. b) GIMME THE POWER (JP van der Merwe) stood in the stalls as the start was effected, losing five lengths. c) WAR CHARIOT (C Murray) jumped inwards and made contact with BEL CANTO DREAM (C Little) leaving the stalls. d) HEAR MY VOICE (G Wright), ELECTRIC FEELS (*S Bungane) and EASY LIVING (Noach) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) The Stewards requested a pre-race examination of BLACK PATH. The Veterinary Surgeon reported that there was nothing untoward with this mare and BLACK PATH was suitable to race. b) ROSA OSIRIA (C Murray) was hanging in from the 400m. c) At the 100m, Apprentice V Jodhee (EASY MONEY), which initially shifted inwards, was obliged to stop riding and straighten EASY MONEY outwards to relieve the pressure on EASY LIVING (O Noach), which improved into a narrow run on his inside and close to the inside running rail. Following this incident, EASY MONEY (*V Jodhee) rolled out and was steadied when close to the heels of HEAR MY VOICE (G Wright), which shifted inwards when just not clear, shortly before the finish line. d) Jockey G Lerena reported that GOLDEN TATJANA did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. e) In view of the performance of DU MAURIER (A Domeyer) (Betting 14/10; Distance 5.20 lengths), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. f) In view of the report from the Starter regarding GIMME THE POWER (JP van der Merwe), this filly's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and she is suspended for 7 days in terms of Rule 61.6.10 and until such time as she proves to be tractable to jump on terms with a companion. (Suspension dates: 30/07/2025 to 05/08/2025 inclusive) GIMME THE POWER may not be presented for re-passing during this period. g) BONNE BOUCHE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer SW Humby was advised. (ZM) h) BLACK PATH, unplaced, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer PD Wrensch was advised.
