THE STARTER REPORTED:
a) DE VLUGGE (C F Dicken) was restless in the stalls.
b) PRIVATE WORLD (M Thackeray) and EBISU (C Little) lost 2 lengths.
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED :
a) Leaving the 250m FASCINATION (*D D Louw) which rolled out was unbalanced and had its hindquarters turned inwards when bumped by EBISU (C Little) which hung in from the 300m. Thereafter in the concluding stages FASCINATION (*D D Louw) was carried in and brushed on two occasions by EBISU (C Little) which continued to hang in and shifted in away from the crop.
b) An Objection was lodged by Jockey C Little on behalf of the second placed horse EBISU against the winner FASCINATION (*D D Louw) on the grounds of interference in the concluding stage. After considering the evidence presented, the Board was of the view that but for the above incident, EBISU (C Little) would not have beaten FASCINATION (*D D Louw), therefore, the Board overruled the objection and allowed the Judges' result to stand. Jockey C Little's deposit was refunded.
c) Jockey T Godden reported that the saddle on WATER HYACINTH slipped backwards in the running. This was confirmed by the video evidence.
d) Jockey C Little was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (Appendix E, Guideline M), in that as the rider of EBISU, he misused his crop by striking this filly more than twelve times (15) which was not warranted when considering the circumstances of the race. Jockey C Little signed an admission of guilt and was fined R10 000.
e) Trainer G van Zyl (Jnr) was charged with a contravention of Rule 39.3 in that he failed to vaccinate SPINMYANGELSSPIN against African Horse Sickness in accordance with the programme of vaccination as published from time to time in the Racing Calendar. Trainer G van Zyl signed an admission of guilt and was fined R1000.
f) FASCINATION (*D D Louw), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Stable Employee N Culverwell acting on behalf of Trainer N Kotzen was advised (SP).

a) WATER HYACINTH raced fitted with an alumite bar shoe on the left front (advised 28.07.2025/13h50).
