THE STARTER REPORTED: a) A fair start. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) As the start was effected DAWN TILL DUSK (J P v'd Merwe) was buffeted between QUEUE WING (*M Mbuto) and MALCOLM'S DREAM (C F Dicken) which jumped inwards and thereafter commenced to race fiercely into the turn. b) Approaching the 100m GIAMBATTISTA (D Daniels) which had come to the end of its run was steadied between NELSON BAY (S Moodley) and THE SHEPHERD (S Veale) which was carried in by QUEUE WING (*M Mbuto) which was hanging in from the 300m and shifted in. c) In view of the performance of KITCHAKAL (C Murray) which commenced to give ground to the field from the 300m, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. d) Assistant Trainer V Beets acting on behalf of Trainer P B Muscutt was charged with a contravention of Rule 39.7.5 in that he failed to vaccinate THE SHEPHERD against Equine Influenza in accordance with the programmed of vaccination as published from time to time in the Racing Calendar. Assistant Trainer V Beets signed an admission of guilt and was fined R1000. e) ROSH KEDESH (C Zackey), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer D Kannemeyer was advised (SP). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) Nil. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER : a) Nil. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED : a) KITCHAKAL : Speedy cut right fore and right hind. b) QUEUE WING : Returned post-race having cast the right front shoe.
