THE STARTER REPORTED: a) EXTRACTION (*J Botes) was nervous in the stalls. b) DIVO MONDO (L Mxothwa) jumped awkwardly and made contact with the right-side gate of the starting stalls. c) ZAMBEZI SUNSET (S Khumalo) jumped slow, losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (12h27) b) PYRO EDITION (C Little) jumped awkwardly inwards and made contact with ZAMBEZI SUNSET (S Khumalo) shortly after the start. c) MATT'S WARRIOR (*N Nastili) had to steady when directed into a narrowing run between DIVO MONDO (L Mxothwa) and ZAMBEZI SUNSET (S Khumalo), which shifted inwards slightly at approximately the 500m. d) EXTRACTION (*J Botes), which shifted outwards slightly, was bumped inwards by GLOBAL DRUMBEAT (M YENI), which was hanging in and shifted inwards at approximately the 500m. As a consequence, both EXTRACTION (*J Botes) and GLOBAL DRUMBEAT (M Yeni) became unbalanced for a number of strides. e) MATT'S WARRIOR (*N Nastili) had to steady momentarily off the heels of DIVO MONDO (L Mxothwa), which shifted inwards at approximately the 300m. f) Apprentice S Valjalo (AETHELWULF) rode a satisfactory qualifying ride. g) EXTRACTION (*J Botes) returned with a bilateral epistaxis due to an exercise induced pulmonary haemorrhage and is suspended for a period of 60 days from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of The National Horseracing Authority of Southern Africa in terms of Rule 93.1.
