THE STARTER REPORTED: a) HOSPICES DE BEAUNE (M van Rensburg) was stubborn loading and slow into stride. b) MR BELVEDERE (C Little) jumped awkwardly. c) LIGHT WITHOUT (K Minnie), PASHTUNWALI (K Steyn) and ARIVIDICIO (C Maujean) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (14h49) b) THUNDER MASTER (*N Nastili) was directed outwards between the 300m and the 100m. Thereafter, THUNDER MASTER (*N Nastili) commenced to hang in and shifted inwards shortly before the finish line. Apprentice N Nastili appeared before the Board and was questioned with regard to the reason he shifted outwards when there was no obvious reason to do so. He could offer no suitable explanation. The Stewards advised Apprentice Nastili not to direct his mount outwards and cover unnecessary ground when it is not necessary to do so. He was further advised that should he ride in a similar manner in future engagements, stronger disciplinary measures may be taken. c) LIGHT WITHOUT (K Minnie) returned with a bilateral epistaxis due to an exercise induced pulmonary haemorrhage and is suspended for an indefinite period (3rd episode) from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of The National Horseracing Authority of Southern Africa in terms of Rule 93.1. (Dr J de Villiers) d) KINGDOM OF HEAVEN, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer K Mitchley was advised.
