THE STARTER REPORTED: a) The bridle and ear muffs on BIRD ON A WING (C Habib) were re-fitted at the start. b) LAUGH TILL I CRY (L Mxothwa) jumped inwards. c) COSMIC CLIFFS (*N Nastili) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (12h35) b) Due to a technical issue with the Jockey scale, all Riders were weighed out manually. c) There was a technical error with the photo finish in the Judge's box. As a consequence, the Judges confirmed the results on the video recording from the camera which is aligned with the photo finish obtained in the technical room for broadcasting, in terms of the provisions of Rule 65.6. This resulted in a lengthy delay to the release of the Official result. d) LANA VIEW (P Mxoli), which over raced in the early and middle stages, shifted in away from the crop at the 250m and was immediately corrected. e) COSMIC CLIFFS (*N Nastili) shifted inwards away from the crop from the 200m and was straightened at the 50m. f) BIRD ON A WING (C Habib) shifted out away from the crop at the 150m and was straightened shortly before the finish line. g) In view of the performance of LAUGH TILL I CRY (L Mxothwa), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. Trainer SB Kotzen was advised to report back should she find anything amiss with this filly on her return to the stables. h) COSMIC CLIFFS, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer JVA Strydom was advised. (LM) i) LANA VIEW, the second-placed horse, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer L Gila was advised.
