THE STARTER REPORTED: a) IN A TIMELY MANNER (*T Mayhew) jumped outwards, losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) In view of the performance of CASA ESTIVA (*S Bungane), which took a number of awkward strides in running, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. b) Apprentice S Bungane was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (Guideline 3; Appendix E) in that he mis-used his crop by striking CASA ESTIVA in front of the saddle approaching the 200m. Apprentice S Bungane signed an admission of guilt and was fined R1 000.00. c) This was Apprentice J Botes 20th winner and in terms of Rule 54.14 he will only be entitled to claim 2.5kg from the conclusion of today's race meeting. d) RATTLESNAKE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
