THE STARTER REPORTED: a) LOTUS ISLAND (K Minnie), EPIKLEROS (C Maujean), FIRST WISH (C Zackey) and GREENLITEALLTHEWAY (MK Katjedi) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (14h52) b) Permission was granted for EPIKLEROS (C Maujean) to be assisted by a lead pony when proceeding to the start. c) QUEEN OF LOVE (C Little) stumbled shortly after the start, shifted outwards and made contact with EPIKLEROS (C Maujean). d) HONORABLE MEMBER (L Mxothwa) shifted out away from the crop from the 400m and was corrected at the 200m. e) Jockey M Yeni's (KNOCKOUT) crop was entangled in his reins between the 300m and the 200m. f) Jockey L Mxothwa's (HONORABLE MEMBER) crop was entangled in his reins between the 150m and the 100m. As a consequence, HONORABLE MEMBER (L Mxothwa) shifted outwards and made slight contact with LADY SILVANO (R Fourie). g) In view of the performance of KNOCKOUT (M Yeni) (Betting 11/10; Distance 5 lengths), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this mare. Stable Employee J Mdlulu was advised to report back should he find anything amiss with this mare on her return to the stables. h) EPIKLEROS, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
