THE STARTER REPORTED: a) MIAMI MOUNTAIN (C Murray) and SINGLE COMBAT (*S Valjalo) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) JET QUERARI (C Little) hung in from the 400m. Thereafter, Jockey C Little reported that this gelding did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. b) MISS MUNROE (C Habib) hung in between the 400m and 200m. c) EMPRESS WU (S Khumalo) hung in and tired badly in the concluding stages. In view of this report, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. d) BANYAN (L Nhlapo), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer J J van Vuuren advised (SM).
