THE STARTER REPORTED:
a) GLOBAL ALLY (L Mxothwa) was slow into stride.
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded (13H42).
b) GOLDEN PEACE (R Fourie) jumped awkwardly leaving the stalls and over-raced in the early and middle
stages.
Jockey R Fourie appeared before the Board and was questioned regarding his ride on GOLDEN PEACE.
He explained to the Board that this was the gelding's first run on the Polytrack. He further explained that
due to the fact that three horses in the race had pace, he intended to track those horses and give GOLDEN
PEACE a chance as he has a quick turn of foot and expected it would make an effort when asked to do
so. At approximately the 600m, as he began to urge it forward, he didn't receive this gelding's usual
response and continued losing ground to the field. Jockey R Fourie stated that he has advised the Trainer
to put this gelding over further and changing racing tactics in its future run on the same surface. Jockey
R Fourie's explanation was noted.
c) GLOBAL ALLY (L Mxothwa) over-raced in the early and middle stages.
d) GOLDEN PEACE (R Fourie) hung in from the 300m.
e) BINGWA (C Habib) hung in from the 200m.
f) At approximately the 200m, GLOBAL ALLY (L Mxothwa) was steadied when awkwardly placed on the
heels ZATARA MAGIC (C Zackey), when carried outwards by ROLL OF THE DICE (M van Rensburg),
which shifted out away from the crop. Thereafter, GLOBAL ALLY (L Mxothwa) was directed outwards for
a clear run.

g) In view of the performance of GOLDEN PEACE (R Fourie), (distance 4,25 lengths, betting 83/100), the
Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine.
h) FIREALLEY (C Maujean), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
