THE STARTER REPORTED: a) SHAMPIMPI (K Minnie) and TWILIGHT BAY (C Habib) were nervous in the stalls. b) UMZOLOZOLO (M van Rensburg), GOT THE FEVER (W Agrella), THREE CHEERS (M K Katjedi) and GREEN ISLE (R Fourie) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded (14H18). b) Permission was granted for TWILIGHT BAY (C Habib) to be assisted by a lead pony when proceeding to the start. c) GREEN ISLE (R Fourie) hung in from the 300m. d) Jockey C Zackey (MS PATTY) did not persevere with his riding from the 200m. Thereafter, Jockey C Zackey reported that this filly took no interest in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. The Stipendiary Board has exercised the provisions of Rule 49.7, and this filly is suspended pending a Veterinary Certificate prior to its next racing engagement. Assistant Trainer D G Smith was advised e) Jockey M van Rensburg reported that UMZOLOZOLO changed stride continually in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. f) GREEN ISLE (R Fourie), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer A C Greeff advised (LM). JOCKEY CHANGES: None.
