THE STARTER REPORTED: a) LARK'S SONG (C Orffer) and LADY AMBER (K Steyn) jumped slow, losing one length. b) AUTUMN RUSH (D Ashby) jumped slow, losing two lengths. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Approaching the 800m LAYDELAY (S Khumalo) raced onto the heels of LA PATRONA (G WRIGHT), was steadied and shifted outwards sharply. As a consequence, CALANQUE (C Zackey), which was hanging out, was carried out and raced wide on the turn and into the straight. b) Between the 350m and the finish, PLAYFUL JOULES (G van Niekerk) was hanging out and shifted out. CALANQUE (C Zackey), which raced green and showed a tendency to hang out, was carried out as a consequence. Jockey G van Niekerk appeared before the Board and was advised to take stronger measures to keep his mounts on a straight course in similar circumstances. c) LARK'S SONG (C Orffer) and REDLIGHT LANE (A Fortune) raced green. d) When questioned regarding the performance of PLAYFUL JOULES on 10 July 2025, Trainer GW Ennion told the Stewards that the heavy track conditions on the day had not suited this filly and that had accounted for her poor performance. His explanation was noted. e) PLAYFUL JOULES, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer GW Ennion was advised.
