THE STARTER REPORTED: a) BLACK PATH (JP van der Merwe) jumped awkwardly, losing one length. b) HANG OUT THE STARS (S Khumalo) jumped awkwardly outwards, made contact with the front gate and lost one length. c) GRIPEN (C Little) jumped outwards. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Due to a technical issue with the starting stalls, a manual start was effected. b) GRIPEN (C Little) was hanging in from the 300m. c) Jockey S Khumalo reported that he felt something amiss with HANG OUT THE STARS and did not persevere with his riding in the latter stages. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this mare. d) BLACK PATH, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer PD Wrensch was advised.
