THE STARTER REPORTED: a) BIG BOY BRUCE (MK Katjedi) was injured in the stalls and withdrawn by the Veterinary Surgeon, causing a delay. b) VEGAS HI RISE (J Gates) was nervous in the stalls. c) JAMES FITZJAMES (C Habib) rushed the front gates of the starting stalls. d) IGUGULETHU (C Zackey) stood awkwardly in the stalls and jumped slow, losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (16h17) b) EXQUISITE (R Fourie) was hanging in from the 500m and was corrected at the 150m. Thereafter, Jockey R Fourie reported that EXQUISITE choked up in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. c) Jockey Y Ramzan (AMERICAN DREAM) dropped his crop at the 200m. d) IGUGULETHU (C Zackey) took an awkward stride shortly before the finish line. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. e) SWEET AND TRUE (L Mxothwa) returned with a bilateral epistaxis due to an exercise induced pulmonary haemorrhage and is suspended for a period of 60 days from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of The National Horseracing Authority of Southern Africa in terms of Rule 93.1. (Dr M Bawden) f) MASKED VIGILANTE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer AC Greeff was advised.
