THE STARTER REPORTED: a) PARIS FUN (C Habib) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) SPIRITED GIRL (*T Mayhew) hung in for the 400m. b) COMMANDER OF ALL (J Gates) hung out in the concluding stages. c) In view of the Veterinary Surgeon's report concerning BREGARDT, and in terms of Rule 93.1, this gelding is suspended for 60 days from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of the National Horseracing Authority. Trainer F Bronkhorst was advised. d) PRIZED PLATINUM (C Maujean), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer C Naude, acting on behalf of Trainer C Binda, was advised (MS). When questioned regarding PRIZED PLATINUM'S poor performance on the 20th of August, Assistant Trainer C Naude, acting on behalf of Trainer C Binda, explained that this gelding had not travelled well to Kwa-Zulu Natal. JOCKEY CHANGES: a) BREGARDT: Apprentice S Valjalo weighed out at 50,2kg, only claiming 2kg of her 4kg apprentice allowance as declared. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: None.
