THE STARTER REPORTED: a) JET FORCE (G van Niekerk) was reluctant to load, causing a delay and thereafter jumped slow, losing one length. b) GIMMELIGHTNING (C Zackey) jumped slow, losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) JET FORCE recorded a TCO2 concentration of more than 36 mmol/L. Trainer D McLachlan was advised that a second blood specimen would be collected. This specimen was of an acceptable TCO2 level. b) GIMMELIGHTNING (C Zackey) proved difficult proceeding to the start and had to be assisted by a Handler. Trainer SJ Snaith was advised that should this gelding behave in a similar manner in future engagements, he may be suspended. c) GIMMELIGHTNING (C Zackey) and AIR RAID (R Fourie) brushed at the 250m. d) In view of the report from the Starter regarding JET FORCE (G van Niekerk), this gelding's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and he is suspended for 7 days in terms of Rule 61.6.10 and until such time as he proves to be tractable to load with a companion. (Suspension dates: 04/09/2025 to 10/09/2025 inclusive) JET FORCE may not be presented for re-passing during this period. e) JET FORCE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
