PLAY SOCCER 6, 10 AND 13 MAIDEN PLATE (For all Maidens)

THE STARTER REPORTED: a) After all the horses were loaded, the stalls gates opened due to a technical fault on two separate occasions, which resulted in the Starter having to call a second false start, despite the gates being checked after the first false start. On both occasions, all runners were immediately restrained, returned behind the stalls, examined by the Veterinary Surgeon, passed suitable to race and reloaded. b) A manual start was effected to avoid any further delays. c) AETHELWULF (M Yeni) was nervous in the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (13h01) b) Permission was granted for AETHELWULF (M Yeni) to be assisted by a lead pony when proceeding to the start. c) Prior to leaving the parade ring, QUICK CROWN (R Fourie) was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon and withdrawn. d) BOMBER BAY (C Habib) was hanging in from the 400m. e) At approximately the 100m AETHELWULF (M Yeni) had to ease when awkwardly placed between BOMBER BAY (C Habib) and KEENIA'S PRINCESS (W Agrella), which shifted inwards from approximately the 150m. In this incident, BOMBER BAY (C Habib) had to be steadied momentarily. Jockey W Agrella was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.7 in that as the rider of KEENIA'S PRINCESS, he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to AETHELWULF at the 100m. Jockey W Agrella signed an Admission of Guilt and is suspended from riding in races for a period of 7 days. (Dates: 11/09/2025 to 17/09/2025, both dates inclusive) f) GOLDEN CROC (MK Katjedi) shifted inwards at approximately the 50m and was immediately corrected. g) KEENIA'S PRINCESS, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer DA McKenzie was advised.
