THE STARTER REPORTED: a) ORANJEMUND (*N Nastili) jumped slow, losing one length and thereafter was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (16h01) b) STAR COIN (C Habib) , which was led by a lead pony, refused to parade. Assistant Trainer DG Smith was advised to reschool this gelding until it is tractable to parade and proceed to the start on a race day. Assistant Trainer DG Smith appeared before the Board and was warned that should he attempt to use a lead pony without obtaining permission from the Stewards, disciplinary measures would be taken. c) MAKHACHEV (M Yeni) and HEART STEALER (R Fourie) over raced in the early stages. d) GEORGE HANDEL (*G Dookhit) ducked inwards away from a patch at approximately the 900m and was immediately restrained. e) GEORGE HANDEL (*G Dookhit) was hanging in from the 400m. f) SLAINTE MHATH (MK Katjedi) was hanging in from the 250m. g) Apprentice N Nastili reported that he felt something amiss with ORANJEMUND. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. Trainer JP Nel was advised to report back should he find anything amiss with this gelding. h) GEORGE HANDEL, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer Z Oosthuizen was advised.
