THE START OF THIS RACE WAS DELAYED DUE TO SAY A WISH (M YENI) PROVING RELUCTANT TO PROCEED TO THE START. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) SAY A WISH (M Yeni) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) SAY A WISH (M Yeni) proved reluctant to canter to the start. Trainer J J van Vuuren was advised that should this filly behave in a similar manner in future, it may be suspended. b) SAY A WISH (M Yeni) over-raced in the early and middle stages and thereafter tired badly in the concluding stages. In view of this performance, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. c) ONE EYE ON VEGAS (C Zackey) hung in from the 500m, proving difficult to assist. d) SEED SEEKER (K Matsunyane) shifted out away from the crop from the 250m. e) TRUST (S Moodley) hung out from the 200m. f) Jockey S Khumalo reported that UBERMENSCH did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. g) TRUST (S Moodley), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
