THE STARTER REPORTED: a) STAR WORLD (S Veale) was restless in the stalls and jumped slow, losing one length. b) KISSES (G Behr) jumped awkwardly inwards and made contact with WAVE WALKER (D Ashby) which, as a consequence, lost one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) In view of the performance of KISSES (G Behr), which raced awkwardly with its head up and proved difficult to settle in the early and middle stages, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. b) At the 150m QUEEN REGENT (JP van der Merwe) was carried outwards by EISTEDDFOD (C Orffer), which was hanging out from the 300m and shifted out. Jockey C Orffer appeared before the Board and was advised to straighten his mounts sooner than he had on this occasion. c) QUEEN REGENT, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
