THE STARTER REPORTED: a) SENDAI (L Mxothwa) was restless and reared in the stalls, was taken out, examined by the Veterinary Surgeon, passed suitable to race and reloaded, causing a delay. b) UNITED FRONT (S Veale) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) DIAMOND DAYS (C Zackey) over raced in the early stages. b) DIAMOND DAYS (C Zackey) and GOLD GIBOSKI (M Yeni) made contact at the 400m. c) DRIVING SNOW (R Fourie) was hanging in from the 300m. d) DANCE TO THE SUN (JP van der Merwe) was hanging out in the latter stages. e) Jockey C Zackey reported that DIAMOND DAYS felt uncomfortable in its action. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. f) In view of the report from the Starter regarding SENDAI (L Mxothwa), this gelding's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and he is suspended for 7 days in terms of Rule 61.6.10 and until such time as he proves to be tractable to load with a companion. (Suspension dates: 10/09/2025 to 16/09/2025 inclusive) SENDAI may not be presented for re-passing during this period. g) Jockey S Veale was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline M on the use of the crop) in that as the rider of UNITED FRONT he misused his crop by striking UNITED FRONT more than 12 times (13) which was not warranted when considering the circumstances of the race. Jockey S Veale signed an admission of guilt and was fined R2000,00. h) UNITED FRONT, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer VH Marshall was advised.
