THE STARTER REPORTED: a) FORT IMPREZA (M Yeni) and SIGNOR DANTE (L Mxothwa) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) MARINE MERCHANT (C Bantam) and RARE EARTH (C Zackey) over raced in the early stages. b) At the 400m TORI'S GIRL (K Steyn) shifted out away from the crop and had to be straightened. c) Apprentice B Plaatjies reported that ICE SPEAR made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. d) Trainer J Crawford will be advised to report back on the condition of SENOR DANTE on his return to the stables. e) MARINE MERCHANT (C Bantam) returned with a bilateral epistaxis due to an exercise induced pulmonary haemorrhage and is suspended for a period of 60 days from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of The National Horseracing Authority of Southern Africa in terms of Rule 93.1. (Dr E Reynders) f) BEAUTIFUL SIDE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer AE Sands was advised.
