THE STARTER REPORTED: a) AM STILL WINNING (*G Dookhit) was nervous and reared in the stalls and thereafter was slow into stride. b) STALAGMITE (X Ndlovu) was nervous in the stalls. c) GLOBAL ZEE (C Maujean) was nervous and reared in the stalls. d) MAGNUS THE GOOD (C Habib) jumped awkwardly and was slow into stride. e) STAND UP (J Gates) jumped awkwardly inwards and made contact with the right-side front gate of the starting stall. f) PALANCAR (M van Rensburg) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) MAGNUS THE GOOD (C Habib), which jumped awkwardly inwards and was immediately corrected, over raced in the early and middle stages. b) AM STILL WINNING (*G Dookhit) was hanging in from the 200m. c) Jockey C Maujean did not persevere with his riding of GLOBAL ZEE from the 150m and thereafter reported that this gelding made an abnormal respiratory noise in running.
