THE STARTER REPORTED: a) BLACK PATH (*G Samo-Burthia) and TRES CHIC (*V Jodhee) jumped slow, losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) ANGEL'S OASIS recorded a TCO2 concentration of more than 36 mmol/L. Trainer J Crawford was advised that a second blood specimen would be collected. This specimen was of an acceptable TCO2 level. b) TRES CHIC (*V Jodhee) proved difficult proceeding to the start, causing a delay. Trainer PAW Botha was advised that should this mare behave in a similar manner in future engagements, she may be suspended. c) Approaching the 800m TRUE HORIZON (*DD Louw) was severely cramped for galloping room and had to be checked, losing position, when racing tight on the inside of ANGEL'S OASIS (*B Plaatjies), which was carried inwards by ROSA ORIRIA (*M Mbuto), which shifted in. BLACK PATH (*G Samo-Burthia), which was following, had to be steadied and then shifted out as a consequence. The Stewards requested that the Veterinary Surgeon examine TRUE HORIZON (*DD Louw). Apprentice M Mbuto was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.7 in that as the rider of ROSA OSIRIA, he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to TRUE HORIZON approaching the 800m. Apprentice M Mbuto signed an Admission of Guilt and is suspended from riding in races for a period of 7 days. (Dates to be advised) d) MISS NEW YORK, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer AD Steyn was advised.
