During the loading process BOURBON WARRIOR (T Godden) became restless in the stalls. This gelding was released from the starting stalls, examined by the Veterinary Surgeon, passed fit to race and reloaded. This caused a delay to the start of this race. Steady rain fell during the running of this race. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) RAINBOW REWARD (J Jacobs) caught its right hind leg in the starting stalls. This gelding was released from the stalls, examined by the Veterinary Surgeon, passed fit to race and reloaded. b) BOURBON WARRIOR (T Godden) rushed the front gates during the loading process. This gelding was released from the stalls, examined by the Veterinary Surgeon, passed fit to race and reloaded. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) MASTER JOSH (*D D Louw) hung in, in the concluding stages and thereafter Apprentice D D Louw reported that MASTER JOSH choked up in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. b) Jockey C Zackey reported that WONDERFUL made an abnormal respiratory noise in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. c) In view of the performance of MOJO MAN (C Murray) (10.55 lengths, 7/2 in the betting), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. Trainers M/M De Kock will be asked to report back on the condition of MOJO MAN on return to stables. d) BOURBON WARRIOR (T Godden), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
