THE STARTER REPORTED:
a) NOTHING COMPARES (*G Samo-Burthia) jumped inwards leaving the stalls.
b) STORM CREST (*K J Lihaba) was slow into stride.
c) UNIVERSAL GIRL (IRE) (C Murray) stumbled shortly after the start.
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a) STORM CREST (*K J Lihaba) commenced to give ground to the field from the 400m. In view of this performance, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine.
b) In view of the performance of AMAZE ME (M Yeni), (distance 15,50 lengths, betting 28/10), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine.
c) Jockey C Zackey reported that SWORD OF LIGHT did not act in the soft underfoot conditions. In view of this report, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine.
d) Jockey C Murray (UNIVERSAL GIRL (IRE) did not persevere with his riding in the concluding stages. Thereafter, Jockey C Murray reported that he felt something amiss with this filly in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine.
e) Jockey S Khumalo was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline B on the use of the crop) in that he struck MADAME POMPADOUR with the crop arm above shoulder height.
Jockey S Khumalo signed an Admission of Guilt, and a fine of R1000 was imposed.
f) MADAME POMPADOUR (S Khumalo), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
Trainer W C Marwing advised (MS).
Trainer W C Marwing was questioned regarding the performance of MADAME POMPADOUR at Turffontein Racecourse on the 6th of September 2025. He explained to the Board that he had brought this mare back in trip for today's race, and in his opinion, she is better suited to racing at the Vaal Racecourse track. His explanation was noted, and Trainer W C Marwing was advised to run this mare over a similar distance and venue, where possible, in future.
JOCKEY CHANGES:
