THE STARTER REPORTED: a) DUCHESS OF SEVILLE (*G Dookhit) was stubborn loading. b) WISHES AND DREAMS (R Fourie) was nervous in the stalls. c) CHRONICLESOFNANIA (C Maujean) jumped slow, losing one length. d) SUCHALIFE (L Mxothwa) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) ONE GIANT LEAP recorded a TCO2 concentration of more than 36 mmol/L. Trainer Z Oosthuizen was advised that a second blood specimen would be collected. This specimen was of an acceptable TCO2 level. b) In view of the performance of VOORSMAAKIE (M van Rensburg) which was not persevered with from the 100m, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. Thereafter, Jockey M van Rensburg (VOORSMAAKIE) reported that his saddle slipped forward in running. This was confirmed on the patrol film. c) WISHES AND DREAMS, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer AC Greeff was advised.
