THE STARTER REPORTED: a) EASTERN HIGHLANDS (A Mgudlwa) was restless and reared in the stalls. This gelding was released from the stalls, examined by the Veterinary Surgeon, passed fit to race and re-loaded. Trainer A Wright will be advised to re-school this gelding. b) ROY'S GLORIOUS (J Jacobs) lost two lengths. c) GLOBAL NETWORK (T Godden) lost one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) EASTERN HIGHLANDS (A Mgudlwa) proved difficult to settle in the early stages. b) In view of the performance of EASTERN HIGHLANDS (A Mgudlwa) (10.35 lengths, 28/10 in the betting) the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. c) GLOBAL NETWORK (T Godden) came under pressure and commenced to give ground to the field from the 600m. In view of this performance, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. d) BOURBON'S BEAST (S Khumalo) hung in from the 400m. e) MALONGANE (R Venniker) hung in and shifted in from the 300m. f) TARGARYEN KNIGHT (C Habib), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
