The start of this Race was delayed due to PLAZA ACCORD (J Jacobs) proving reluctant proceeding to the start. AMOR FATI (K Matsunyane) reared in the starting stalls, released, examined by the Veterinary Surgeon, passed fit to race and re-loaded. Thereafter THE SHEPHERD (S Veale) and STARS IN HEAVEN (N Patel) proved stubborn to load. These incidents caused a further delay to the start of this Race. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) AMOR FATI (K Matsunyane) rushed the front gates and reared. This gelding was released, examined by the Veterinary Surgeon, passed fit to race and re-loaded. Trainer N Kotzen was advised to re-school this gelding. b) THE SHEPHERD (S Veale) was stubborn to load. Trainer P Muscutt was advised to re-school this gelding. c) STARS IN HEAVEN (N Patel) was difficult to load. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) In view of PLAZA ACCORD (J Jacobs) proving reluctant proceeding to the start, Trainer P Muscutt was advised that should this gelding behave in a similar manner in future, it may be suspended. b) Approaching the 400m, VOLDEMORT (R Venniker) was brushed out by PLAZA ACCORD (J Jacobs) which was carried out by SUNDANCE KID (C Habib) which rolled out. c) At approximately the 200m, THE SHEPHERD (S Veale) and SUNDANCE KID (C Habib) were brushed when racing in restricted room between NELSON BAY (T Godden) and PLAZA ACCORD (J Jacobs). d) Approaching the 100m STARS IN HEAVEN (N Patel) which had come to the end of its run and rolled in, was brushed by IMPOSING (S Khumalo) which hung out from the 300m. As a result, NELSON BAY (T Godden) was steadied away from the heels of STARS IN HEAVEN (N Patel). e) IMPOSING (S Khumalo), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer G van Zyl (Jnr) was advised (DZ). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) Nil. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER : a) Nil. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED : a) No report.
