THE STARTER REPORTED: a) WINGS OF KILDRA (*T Mayhew) stumbled leaving the stalls. b) FIRE WITHIN (*S Valjalo), MASTER'S ROSE (C Habib) and UNITED OFFER (C Murray) were slow losing one length. c) HATHIGHWAYTOTHESKY (L Nhlapo) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) In view of the performance of FIRE WITHIN (*S Valjalo), (distance 24,65 lengths, betting 100/1), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. b) Jockey K Matsunyane reported that he felt something amiss with EXPLOSIVE POWER in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. c) Jockey M K Katjedi reported that MANURIKI did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. d) Jockey C Habib reported that MASTER'S ROSE made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. e) In view of the Veterinary Surgeon's report concerning EXPLOSIVE POWER, and in terms of Rule 93.1, this filly is suspended for 60 days from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of the National Horseracing Authority.
