THE STARTER REPORTED: a) RICHARDTHEFEARLESS (*G Dookhit) was nervous in the stalls. b) ONE RELIGION (R Fourie) was nervous, stood awkwardly in the stalls and was slow into stride. c) LADY ZULTANITE (W Agrella) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (14h09) b) PARDON ME (C Zackey) over raced in the early stages. c) ONE RELIGION (R Fourie) was hanging in from the 300m. d) In view of the performances of HAT MONTERA (L Mxothwa) and PYRO EDITION (C Little), which were not persevered with from the 50m, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. Jockeys L Mxothwa (HAT MONTERA) and C Little (PYRO EDITION) appeared before the Board and were advised to ride their mounts to the finish with sufficient vigour so as to leave no room for query from the Stewards. Trainers K Mitchley and JP Nel were advised to report back should they find anything amiss with HAT MONTERA and PYRO EDITION respectively on their return to the stables. e) Jockey W Agrella reported that he felt something amiss with LADY ZULTANITE. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this mare. f) In view of the performances of MOVE TO PROVE (E Webber), which was not persevered with from the 250m and FUTURE SAINT (MK Katjedi), which was not persevered with from the 200m, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine these geldings. Jockeys E Webber (MOVE TO PROVE) and MK Katjedi (FUTURE SAINT) appeared before the Board and were reminded of their obligation to report to the Stipendiary Stewards any circumstances which could affect the performance of their mounts. g) RICHARDTHEFEARLESS, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
