THE STARTER REPORTED: a) PALANCAR (M van Rensburg) was restless in the stalls. b) SILVONIAN (C Habib), ROYAL KINGDOM (R Fourie) and DAS GUTE (L Mxothwa) were nervous in the stalls. c) CHIEF RUNNER (X Ndlovu) and BRIGHT FUTURE (MK Katjedi) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (15h57) b) The start of this race was delayed due to the delay in the previous race. c) DAS GUTE (L Mxothwa) over raced in the early stages. d) HOSPICES DE BEAUNE (*G Dookhit) raced wide without cover on the bend and into the straight thereafter was hanging in in the straight. e) Jockey X Ndlovu did not persevere with his riding from the 100m and thereafter reported that CHIEF RUNNER changed stride continually in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. f) Jockey S Naidoo did not persevere with his riding from the 50m and thereafter reported that AMERICAN DREAM did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. Assistant Trainer DG Smith was advised to report back should he find anything amiss with this gelding on his return to the stables. g) ROYAL KINGDOM, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
