THE STARTER REPORTED: a) LADY PENNY (*B Soodoo) jumped awkwardly with its head up and thereafter was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Apprentice B Soodoo (LADY PENNY) rode a satisfactory qualifying ride. b) NIGHT IN JAPAN (L Mxothwa), CELTIQUE (MK Katjedi) and LADY PENNY (*B Soodoo) over raced in the early and middle stages. c) OUTBACK EXPRESS (C Little) was switched in to obtain clear running at the 300m. d) Trainer N Kotzen was questioned regarding the improved performance of KING OF VICTORY compared to its previous race on 14 September 2025. He explained that this gelding had hung badly in that race and he had therefore raced fitted with a different bit today. Trainer N Kotzen was of the opinion that the extra 400m of today's race, accompanied by the different bit, accounted for the improved performance. His explanation was noted. e) KING OF VICTORY, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer JP Nel, acting on behalf of Trainer N Kotzen, was advised.
