THE STARTER REPORTED: a) OLIVER (R Fourie) was restless in the stalls and slow into stride. b) GIMMELIGHTNING (JP van der Merwe) and GREEN GATEWAY (J Solomons) jumped slow, losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) The time of this race was provided as hand-timed by Race Coast as the electronic equipment that provides this information from when the start is effected to the finish was not operational. b) THE WINTER LAKE (C Little) over raced in the early stages. c) The saddle on SCOTTISH KISS (C Murray), which pulled hard in the early stages, slipped forward at the 1000m. As a consequence, SCOTTISH KISS raced well in advance of the field and Jockey C Murray was unable to fully assist this gelding in the straight. d) SCOTTISH KISS, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
