THE STARTER REPORTED: a) SUPREME JUDGE (*J Botes) was nervous in the stalls. b) THE ROARING ROCK (*T Mayhew) was nervous in the stalls and fly-jumped leaving the stalls. c) TOKYO MEDAGLIA (*D Pillay), KING VISERYS (*B Soodoo) and FLIGHT ENGINEER (*S Valjalo) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (15h22) b) Permission was granted for JAMES FITZJAMES (*S Bungane) to be assisted by a lead pony when proceeding to the start. c) Apprentice W Fourie (RUSSIAN EMPIRE) rode a satisfactory qualifying ride. d) TOKYO MEDAGLIA (*D Pillay) was hanging out from the 400m. e) THE ROARING ROCK (*T Mayhew) was hanging out from the 400m and was corrected at the 100m. f) JAMES FITZJAMES (*S Bungane) shifted out away from the crop from the 350m and thereafter, shifted inwards shortly before the finish. Apprentice S Bungane appeared before the Board and was advised to take stronger corrective measures to keep his mounts on a straight course in future engagements. g) KING VISERYS (*B Soodoo) shifted out away from the crop from the 350m and commenced to hang out. h) KING VISERYS, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer JVA Strydom was advised.
