THE STARTER REPORTED: a) ETHICAL (S Moodley) and FESTIVAL OF LIGHT (*S Valjalo) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Shortly after the start, SAPPHIRE SUN (C Habib) and COUNCILLOR (C Murray) came together and brushed. b) SASSY LASSIE (K Matsunyane) over raced in the early stages and thereafter was directed outwards from the 1000m and raced in isolation parallel to the outside running rail throughout. c) Jockey C Habib reported that SAPPHIRE SUN did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. d) In view of the performances of GO GET UR ARMOR (JR Syster) and VILLARRICA (C Zackey), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine these fillies. e) ETHICAL, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
