THE STARTER REPORTED: a) ROLL OF THE DICE (M van Rensburg) was stubborn loading. b) HEEMSTEDE (C Little) was nervous and reared in the stalls c) GLOBAL STATE (C Zackey) and ONE RELIGION (R Fourie) were nervous in the stalls. d) DOWNING SEVEN (*B Soodoo) and ALADO'S PRIDE (MK Katjedi) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (14h42) b) Permission was granted for ROLL OF THE DICE (M van Rensburg) to be assisted by a lead pony when proceeding to the start. c) At the 300m HEEMSTEDE (C Little) shifted out away from the crop and was immediately corrected. d) After racing prominently ahead of the field, RICHARDTHEFEARLESS (*G Dookhit) shifted out away from the crop from the 300m. Apprentice G Dookhit appeared before the Board and was advised to take the necessary corrective measures to keep his mounts on a straight course. e) Jockey L Mxothwa reported that RED WILLIAM did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. f) In view of the performance of ROLL OF THE DICE (M van Rensburg) (Betting 3/1; Distance 14h30 lengths), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. g) GEORGE HANDEL, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
