The start of this race was delayed due to technical issues with the cameras and two false starts being called by the Starter. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) As the start was effected, RED TOP (D. Daniels) broke through the front gates, resulting in a false start being declared. All runners, except for AUDACIOUS (J. Penny), which could not be restrained and bolted the course, were returned to the start, examined by the Course Veterinary Surgeon, passed fit to race, and reloaded. AUDACIOUS was subsequently withdrawn. b) On the second attempt, as the start was effected, BLAZING SKY (M. Katjedi) broke through the front gates, dislodging Jockey Katjedi. The horse then bolted the course and was withdrawn. c) FOREVER ROYAL (K Derere) stood in the stalls and lost considerable ground. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) In view of the Starter's report, the Starting Stall Certificates for RED TOP, AUDACIOUS, BLAZING SKY and FOREVER ROYAL has been withdrawn, until recertified tractable with a companion. Trainers D Swanson, B Stidolph and Stable Employee M Mallet acting on behalf of Trainer A Parham were advised (WD). b) POWER RANGER (J Syster), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer D Swanson advised (AH). JOCKEY AND/OR EQUIPMENT CHANGES: None. R.ACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: None. THE VETERINARY SURGEON HAD NO REPORTS. SCRATCHED: a) AUDACIOUS bolted the course and subsequently withdrawn. b) BLAZING SKY dislodged the rider, bolted the course and subsequently withdrawn.
